TD SYNNEX Share the Magic launches President’s Choice Award to support fifth Upstate charity

Meyer Center for Special Children named inaugural 2026 President’s Choice Charity

GREENVILLE, S.C. — TD SYNNEX Share the Magic, now in its 16th year, is proud to announce the launch of the President’s Choice Charity, a new annual recognition powered by TD SYNNEX co-workers.

Each year, co-workers will nominate Upstate South Carolina nonprofits they know and believe in — organizations they’ve seen make a real difference in the communities where they live and work. One is selected to join the Share the Magic family as that year’s President’s Choice Charity, and this year’s inaugural 2026 recipient is the Meyer Center for Special Children.

The Meyer Center for Special Children will join TD SYNNEX’s four longstanding South Carolina beneficiary organizations — A Child’s Haven, Clement’s Kindness, Make-A-Wish South Carolina and Pendleton Place — as part of the 2026 Share the Magic program. The President’s Choice Charity will be formally celebrated at the 16th Annual Share the Magic Celebration on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the Greenville Convention Center.

“This addition was born out of a desire to extend Share the Magic even further into our community and give our co-workers an opportunity to recognize organizations that have impacted them personally,” said Reyna Thompson, President, TD SYNNEX, North America. “Our co-workers know firsthand the organizations making a difference right here in Upstate South Carolina, and I’m honored to include the Meyer Center as the very first recipient of this recognition.”

The community is invited to join all five charities at Share the Magic South Carolina events throughout 2026, connect with TD SYNNEX coworkers, and support fundraising efforts — including the Day at the Drive (July 21), Golf Tournament (August 10), and BMW Driving Experience (November 7).

Nominations are reviewed by the Share the Magic South Carolina Committee, and one organization is selected to be recognized, celebrated, and supported alongside the program’s four founding beneficiaries.

Using a two-generational model, the organization delivers behavioral health treatment for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers while equipping caregivers with the tools needed to strengthen their households. A Child’s Haven works to interrupt cycles of adversity, improve long-term health and wellness, and build stronger, more resilient families across the Upstate.
  • Clement’s Kindness supports the emotional, psychological, social, and financial needs of Upstate families facing pediatric cancer and serious blood disorders. The fund provides direct assistance to children and their families and offers program support to Prisma Health Children’s Hospital–Upstate and the AYA Cancer Program at Bon Secours St. Francis Health System, helping ensure patients receive comprehensive care during treatment.
  • Make-A-Wish® South Carolinabrings hope and joy to children with critical illnesses through life-changing wishes. Peter Larocque, retired North America president for TD SYNNEX, started the TD SYNNEX Share the Magic in 2011. He said it is truly inspiring to see the continued generosity of the TD SYNNEX family and the profound impact the four charities have on children and families in the Upstate.

“This initiative is a testament to what can be achieved when a community comes together for a shared purpose,” Larocque said. “The funds raised not only sustain vital programs but also provide hope, healing and life-changing experiences for those who need them most.”

Reyna Thompson recently stepped in as the new North America President for TD SYNNEX. She reaffirmed that even under new leadership, TD SYNNEX will continue to be a supporter of the Greenville community and the Share the Magic charities.

Since its inception, TD SYNNEX Share the Magic has raised more than $30 million across its eight chapters throughout North America. “This initiative reflects the heart of our company and I’m proud to see how our team, partners and community come together year after year to make an incredible impact,” Stegner said.

During the Dec. 9 event, it was announced that TD SYNNEX’s Greenville office located at 39 Pelham Ridge Drive will be renamed the Peter Larocque Center. This will be done to honor Peter Larocque, recently retired president of North America for TD SYNNEX and founder of TD SYNNEX Share the Magic

TD SYNNEX Share the Magic event raised $2.6M for Upstate children’s charities

TD SYNNEX Share the Magic raised $2.6 million — and counting — during its 13th annual fundraising drive.

The charitable initiative raises funds to support local organizations serving children including A Child’s Haven, Clement’s Kindness, Make-A-Wish South Carolina and Pendleton Place. A check presentation will be held in December.

Misty Farmer, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish South Carolina, said TD SYNNEX Share the Magic is an integral partner in Make-A-Wish South Carolina’s mission.

“There is no aspect of our operation that TD SYNNEX hasn’t impacted throughout the years,” Farmer said. “To give you some perspective, last year we granted 255 wishes, and Share the Magic funded 57 of the 255 wishes.”

TD SYNNEX Share the Magic recently hosted a celebration event Oct. 7 on the Grand Lawn at Hartness, east of Greenville. Around 1,400 people from across North America attended the event, which featured a silent auction, presentation program and special music entertainment.

The initiative’s final fundraising event of the year will be a golf tournament held Oct. 28 at Green Valley Country Club.

Founded in Greenville in 2011 by TD SYNNEX President of North America, Peter Larocque, Share the Magic has raised more than $20 million to help children in need. The initiative has also established chapters in Canada, Colorado, Illinois, Arizona, San Antonio and the Bay Area of California.

Gary Palenbaum, Executive Vice President of Product Management at TD SYNNEX, said it’s very rewarding to be part of the initiative that gives back to children in need.

“When you hand out $300,000 or $400,000 to charity, that’s moving — that’s sizable. That can make a huge difference,” Palenbaum said.
